Being a British Eventing Accredited Coach, Ben offers coaching for riders who have either professional or personal competition goals. He works with both the rider and the horse to understand how they work and think, to develop a better understanding and creating a stronger partnership.
This doesn’t resrtict his coaching to just Eventing, whether you are competing at Prelim to Grand Prix, Intro to Advanced or British Novice to Foxhunter, you need to have a sound foundation set up for your horse to give you it’s best and for you to enjoy your riding experience.
Knowledge on the stable management side is just as important and this can be covered by the professional BHS Stage exams or the recreational Horse Ownership certificates.
When working in for a competition in either dressage, showing, show jumping or Eventing, Ben understands the need for someone on the ground to work with you to develop the finer points, allowing you to work your horse effectively to set the horse up ready to compete.
This fine tuning can take place at your yard or warming in for a competition. As the partnership grows it is an effective way to achieve the most from both horse and rider.
Preparation for a competition is vital for both horse and rider, to get the best performance on the day. Ben can work with you at home or out at schooling venues (indoor arenas, show jumping , cross country and gallops) to simulate the competition and get both horse and rider settled and confident for the real thing.
Ben’s extensive knowledge on developing fitness programs, interval training, monitoring heart rates while working horses at speed, tack, competition rules, feeding and competition routine will enhance the performance of the horse and can create the optimum preparation for any competition. The better prepared you are the better the day will run.
