Ben offers backing and developing youngsters. He works with you to create the understanding  and develop the bond between you and your horse . This is best to  do  a few times a week  for about a month and you will be handling the horse  both on the ground and mounted.

Backing a young horse takes time and patience and a thorough understanding of how a horse thinks and works. This take years of experience working with horses young and old, to fully understand the best way to produce a well schooled horse.

Ben uses his experience to work with young horses and shows the owners how to develop their youngsters to do the job best fitted for them.

Ben uses the traditional classical methods of lungeing and long reining for the horse to understand the aids, all the time assessing  the body language of the horse to respond in a way the horse understands and can learn easily and effectively. This will be different in every horse, so time limits don’t really work as it is not good to rush a young horse. The horse is the one to tell when he is ready to move onto the next stage.

When backing a young horse, Ben works with the you to give you as much involvement as you would like. Once backed the horse will learn its basic paces before being turned away to think about what he has learnt and to come back in refreshed and ready to learn more.
